This month’s pick of baby/parent friendly events include pattern, blocks and good old fashioned retail therapy:

Camille Walala has taken the London interiors scene by storm with her tribal pop riot of colour and simple mixed patterns popping up in all the best places. You’ve probably stopped to gawp at this building she’s vastly improved in Old Street. And our travels on the canal often take us passed this houseboat she’s made her mark on. This summer she has been commissioned by the NOW Gallery in Greenwich to create a vibrant maze installation that visitors are invited to explore and play with throughout the season.

We tried this one out for you last week – so this is straight from the horse’s (or erm baby’s) mouth. The Barbican have opened up an area especially for curious under 5s to have their very own squishy squashy adventure. An ever changing landscape of textures blocks, tubes, boxes and more are built, demolished and rebuilt throughout the session by the little ones and their (actually quite tired by the end of it to be honest) parents. Really good creative fun.
