London-based designer Rob Ryan‘s papercut style depicting whimsical scenes has long been a favourite. I’ve coveted his work right back from when I didn’t have to think about baby-proofing my home (tbh still not got that one fully nailed…). So it’s such a delight to see Rob’s original designs on a super handy products for little ones from the maker’s of the original kids’ sleep sack: Grobag.
Rob has incorporated sweet designs featuring his signature scenes in soothing pastel tones. With gentle slogans to encourage sleep, inspired by memories of his children’s own bedtime routines. I’ve recently dug out fabric off-cuts from a Rob Ryan sample sale aeons ago that I’m planning to frame for Max’s bedroom (if I ever get round to decorating it) so they could fit in to our decor very nicely thank you very much.
I think it’s delightful – Grobags are such a useful tool and are very much part of the bedtime routine at our house (well not during the current scorching hot weather though!). Grobag have been so spot on with their designer choices with recent sleepsacks using patterns from Anorak and Orla Kiely too. And if having inoffensive bedding designs can make bedtime easier for anyone (even just the parents) I’m sold.
